Joy Anonymous

House

Joy Anonymous sit in a really interesting lane because they are not coming at dance music like traditional club purists or straight indie crossover tourists. The London duo build around house, garage, breakbeat, live instrumentation, and vocal-led songwriting, but the thing that makes them feel distinct is how loose, emotional, and human it all is. Their music often feels like it is being made in real time, jammed out, lived in, a little messy in the right way, which gives it warmth that a lot of polished electronic acts do not have. They are very tied to that post-lockdown wave of artists making dance music feel communal again, less about cold functionality and more about release, connection, and actual feeling. That is why they land in both club and festival settings without sounding like they are chasing one specific lane too hard.
